Panasonic PTF100

29 July 2008, 14:51 by Chad Reynoldson

The Panasonic PTF100 projector does NOT like to be polled. I had written code to control this projector and poll for state (QPW, QIN, QSH). The video mute function (OSH:1 or 0) was working extremely sluggish and sometimes not at all. I fought it for quite a while because the customer was relying on a mute macro and it needed to work consistently. I had turned off polling and it started working consistently and was very quick, as you would expect.

Wow, don’t you love external control of so many various pieces of gear!! We have so much lost knowledge of quirks like this. Perhaps we need a quirksmode for the A/V world.
